A heartfelt request from our Board Chair
When we come together to help one another, the possibilities are endless.
Growing up in South Lake County, I learned an important lesson from my father and grandfather: If you can help someone, you do it—and you don’t expect anything in return. Their message especially resonates in my role as board chair of the Community Foundation of South Lake County.
Every day, this Foundation helps neighbors, organizations, and friends like you lift our community in ways that no one can achieve alone. Through your support, the Foundation continues to address real needs with the help of our nonprofit partners:
- Mentor young girls to grow into confident, capable leaders,
- Serve a warm holiday meal to those without a family table,
- Offer counseling and tutoring to children and families navigating tough times,
- Aid the homeless and less fortunate,
- Provide scholarships to students pursuing education beyond high school,
- Care for domestic and wild animals—and so much more.
But this letter isn’t about the Foundation. It’s about you. You are the heart of our CommYOUnity.
In this special season of giving, I hope you will consider making a gift. You can choose a cause close to your heart or contribute to our Field of Interest Funds, where your gift combines with others for even more impact.
This year, the Community Foundation of South Lake proudly celebrates 30 years of service. Your support assures a strong, reliable, and collaborative presence for positive change for decades to come. Join us in marking this milestone with a “30” gift—$30, $300, $3,000, or any amount that feels meaningful to you.

With heartfelt gratitude,
