Domestic

Right here at home, animals—and the people who love them—need us.

Across South Lake County, pets are more than companions—they are our family, comfort, and often a lifeline for homebound individuals. For many seniors living on fixed incomes, a dog or cat may be their closest source of connection and companionship. But when resources are limited, even basic care like food, medical attention, or spay/neuter services can feel out of reach.

The Animal Welfare Fund helps bridge that gap.

Your support strengthens the network of local shelters, rescues, and programs working every day to keep pets safe, healthy, and with the families who love them. From providing emergency medical care to stocking food shelves for pet owners in need, every dollar stays right here in South Lake County—directly impacting animals in our own community.

Because when a pet is cared for, a family finds peace of mind.
And when we look after our most vulnerable neighbors—two- and four-legged alike—we build a stronger, more compassionate South Lake.

Give today and help ensure every pet has a safe home—and every family has the support they deserve.

Wildlife

Our responsibility doesn’t end at our doorstep—it extends to the wild places we call home.

South Lake County is part of a unique and delicate ecosystem, home to remarkable wildlife—from gopher tortoises and native birds to the endangered Florida panther. These animals face growing challenges as development expands and natural habitats shrink.

While much of our work has focused on domestic animals, we believe caring for our community also means protecting the wildlife that defines it.

The Animal Welfare Fund is working toward a future where we can do more—supporting conservation efforts, habitat preservation, and organizations dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating injured wildlife. With your help, we can grow this work and ensure that South Lake remains a place where both people and wildlife can thrive.

Every donation is a step toward that vision.

Because the way we care for the natural world says everything about who we are as a community.

Join us in building a future where compassion includes every living thing—domestic and wild.
