Ready to celebrate Community Foundation Week

National Community Foundation Week, celebrated this year Nov. 12–18, is a time to recognize the work community foundations do in their local communities. We are proud to participate this year and to showcase the difference local philanthropy makes every day in South Lake County.

Community foundations connect people’s giving interests with local needs. For many donors, that connection is personal. Some support scholarships because they once received one. Others invest in health and wellness after seeing its impact on someone they love. Many are passionate about community preservation, children and families, animal welfare, or disaster preparedness because of their own experiences.

Because community foundations are designed for perpetuity, gifts made today continue to support local needs for years to come, adapting as those needs change over time.

National Philanthropy Day on November 15 also offers an opportunity to recognize the generosity of donors and the many ways giving strengthens our communities. At its core, it is a reminder that philanthropy is about care, connection, and commitment.

We look forward to celebrating Community Foundation Week and National Philanthropy Day this November as we continue to steward the community’s generosity and build a more resilient, vibrant, and compassionate South Lake County.
