Share your ‘Pearl of Wisdom’ for the 30th Anniversary Commemorative Book

This year, the Community Foundation of South Lake County celebrates its 30th anniversary, aptly symbolized by pearls, which represent wisdom, purity, and enduring relationships.

Since its founding in 1995, the Foundation’s journey has been guided by insight and direction from community leaders, residents, donors, and nonprofit partners. Today we recognize that our ability to remain relevant and responsive is due to countless “pearls of wisdom” collected over the past 30 years.

And now it’s your turn.

Since the Foundation is built upon a legacy of wisdom, we invite you to share your “Pearl of Wisdom”. Perhaps it’s a piece of advice that’s forever in your heart. An inspiring story. A quote. Nugget from a book. Anecdote you live by. A saying that shapes your character.

Pearls of Wisdom are being requested at events and collected on our website. We’ll compile all that we can into a Commemorative 30th Anniversary “Pearls of Wisdom” book that will be available at our capstone 30th Anniversary Event.

You can have a place in history, as the Commemorative Book will forever be a part of the Foundation’s legacy! If you would like to contribute a Pearl of Wisdom in celebration of our 30th Anniversary, please click this link, email us, or send it in the mail.

P.S. To get you thinking, I’ll share my Pearl of Wisdom. “My mother often reminded me that life is all about choices- ‘even when you don’t make a choice.’ Her words have stayed with me as a powerful reminder that our path is shaped not only by the decisions we make, but also by the ones we delay or avoid. Every choice- big or small- carries the potential to open new doors or quietly close others. Inaction, too, is a decision, and often the missed opportunities come from not choosing at all. It’s through conscious, intentional choices that we grow, contribute, and create impact- both in our own lives and in the communities we care about.” Please send us your Pearl of Wisdom!
