Online Scholarship Applications for the 2022-2023 School Year will open on December 1, 2022 through March 1, 2023, 11:59pm EST.
Incomplete or late application materials will result in ineligibility. Scholarships are only available for high school seniors.
Please read the eligibility criteria below on each scholarship carefully to familiarize yourself with the scholarships for which you may qualify. Only one application is required to apply to all scholarships. Applicants may not be eligible for every scholarship offered through the Community Foundation of South Lake’s Family of Scholarship Funds.
The South Lake community is fortunate to have generous civic organizations, clubs, businesses, and individual donors who want to assist future generations in attaining their educational goals. CFSLC administers seven scholarship funds for south Lake County high school seniors. We have the privilege of awarding scholarships to students at East Ridge High School, Lake Minneola High School, Montverde Academy, and South Lake High School & Real Life Christian Academy.
Our Scholarships Funds are open to high school students who are residents within the South Lake Hospital tax district. This includes the cities of Clermont, Ferndale, Groveland, Mascotte, Minneola, Montverde, and Stuckey.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Clermont High School existed for many years and ultimately became a part of South Lake High School in 1993 when it was consolidated with Groveland High School. The Clermont High School Alumni have an active association and meet annually for their reunion. The alumni organization decided to start a scholarship that recognizes an outstanding high school senior. To qualify for this scholarship, the student must have a family member who attended Clermont High School. At least one scholarship of $1000 will be awarded annually.
Initial Eligibility Requirements:
- Financial Need
- Academic achievement, including grades, rank in class, standardized test scores and achievement test scores
- Community/extracurricular involvement/volunteering activities
- Awards & recognition
- Family member of a Clermont High School alumni
- Studying in the US
- Must be a graduating high school senior
Don Wickham was dedicated to community health and welfare and brought quality healthcare and health-related services to the community. One $1000 scholarship will be awarded each year. This scholarship may be used at any accredited vocational-technical school, community college, 4-year college or university.
Initial Eligibility Requirements:
- The applicant must have been a student at East Ridge High School, South Lake High School, Lake Minneola High School, Montverde Academy or Real Life Academy for at least a full school year.
- Must be an American citizen and be loyal to the United States of America.
- The applicant must have demonstrated good character, leadership, and community involvement.
Emma Keown was a 2013 graduate of South Lake High School. As a senior she became a member of the South Lake swim team and was elected co-captain. Emma loved her experience on the team and it was one of the highlights of her time at South Lake High School. She went on to Lake Sumter State College and had just decided to major in psychology and criminal justice when her beautiful life was cut short. She was always a giving person and liked to help others, and her family decided to honor her spirit of giving with the establishment of this $1000 annual scholarship. Her family hopes that her name will live on in Clermont and at South Lake High School where she was so loved by her family and friends.
Initial Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a United States citizen
- Must be graduating from South Lake High School and participated on the swim team as a senior
- Must have a 2.5 grade point average or above
Frank B. Farr, Jr. was a scholar and athlete at Groveland High School. One $500 scholarship will be awarded. The applicant may be able to re-apply for a continuing scholarship for up to three years if he or she continues to be enrolled as a full-time college student and maintains a 2.5 unweighted GPA. This scholarship may be used at any accredited vocational-technical school, community college, 4-year college or university.
Initial Eligibility Requirements:
- The applicant must have been a student at South Lake High School at least one full school year.
- The applicant must have an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or above.
This scholarship is based on financial need, academic performance, character and leadership.
The scholarship was established to honor a graduating senior who attends South Lake High School. Julian and Cherry Ann Rowe were very involved in their community so the scholarship recipient should be invested with the community. A $1000 scholarship is awarded annually that can be renewed for up to four years.
Initial Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a citizen of the US
- Maintain a 2.75 grade point average
- Community/extracurricular involvement/volunteering activities
The Pig on the Pond, Inc. scholarship awards are made possible by revenue generated at the annual Pig on the Pond event. We are currently able to offer scholarships valued at up to $10,000 ($2,500 for up to 4 years) to students who reside in South Lake County regardless of where they attend high school.
Applicants will be determined by the Pig on the Pond, Inc. Board of Directors. This scholarship may be used at any accredited vocational-technical school, community college, 4-year college or university.
Initial Eligibility Requirements:
- Scholarships are offered to students who reside in the South Lake Hospital tax district for at least one year, regardless of where they attend high school.
- The applicant must have an unweighted GPA of at least 2.5 and a demonstrated need for financial assistance.
Shaw Buck coached many sports at Groveland High School for more than 40 years. This scholarship is established and funded in honor of Coach Shaw Buck by the Groveland High School Alumni Association. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded each year. This scholarship may be used at any accredited vocational-technical school, community college, 4-year college or university.
Initial Eligibility Requirements:
- The applicant must have been a student at South Lake High School at least one full school year.
- The applicant must have lettered in some athletic endeavor at SLHS.
- The applicant must have a strong leadership and moral character of the type demonstrated by Shaw Buck.
- The applicant must not have been awarded a full scholarship from an institution of higher learning.
