Board chair passes torch and extends gratitude

As my two-year term as Chair of the Board comes to a close, I am filled with gratitude for the incredible journey we’ve shared. It’s been a true privilege to be part of an organization that brings people together to create lasting change. Through the dedication of our board, staff, and volunteers, we’ve made South Lake County a better place, and I couldn’t be prouder of all we’ve accomplished.

From expanding our grantmaking initiatives to providing vital resources to local nonprofits, we’ve worked together to support the needs of the community in new and impactful ways.

Every dollar granted, every initiative launched, and every partnership forged is a testament to the power of collective philanthropy. Our partner organizations are the heartbeat of South Lake County. From providing food and shelter to fostering education and healthcare, the impact of our collective efforts is immeasurable.

As we look ahead, we have an exciting future. With the 30th Anniversary Capstone Event coming up on November 20, we will celebrate and set the stage for the next decade and beyond. You are invited to join us for this special event from 5—7 p.m. at the Foundation. During the program at 6 p.m., we will reflect on our milestones and celebrate the stories of transformation that have been made possible through your generosity and dedication.

With the pearl symbolizing 30th anniversaries, we invite you to submit a “pearl of wisdom” for a special Commemorative Book. It can be a favorite quote. A piece of advice that’s guided you. Words from a parent, teacher, or friend. Everyone has one and we’d love to include yours. Here’s the link to submit your Pearl of Wisdom  

As I pass the torch to Paula Hoisington, I am filled with confidence. Paula’s experience, vision, and dedication will propel the Foundation into its next chapter of growth and impact. Our thanks to Lance Sewell and Michael Bucher who have completed their board terms.
