Welcome to Scholarships
Scholarships Committee PageEach year the Scholarship Committee thoroughly reviews the host of applications received for the Community Foundation's scholarships. The committee is continually impressed by both the number and quality of applications received. Some of the criteria on which student applications are reviewed include: financial need; academic achievements; student essays; extra-curricular activities; recommendations from teachers; and community service.
CFSL Scholarship Awards PageWe are proud to be able to offer annual scholarship opportunities. These scholarships awards are made possible by revenue generated at the annual Pig on the Pond event. Through the extraordinary efforts of the Pig on the Pond Inc., a supporting organization, we are currently capable of offering scholarships to students who have resided in south Lake County for at least one year, regardless of where they attend high school. Money is also available for 2nd year renewals.
Family of Funds Scholarship Awards PageA variety of donors, through establishment of scholarship funds, have chosen the Community Foundation of South Lake as their partner of choice in furthering the education aspirations of local high school seniors. The name of each scholarship fund is chosen by the donor(s) and although these scholarships do not carry the Community Foundation name, they are in fact, administered by the Community Foundation of South Lake. In many cases, donors also generate revenue at the Pig on the Pond event that they use to augment the value of the scholarship funds. Visit the current award winners page.
Apply for a Scholarship PageThis page has a link to the application packet for students who reside in south Lake County (i.e. Clermont, Ferndale, Groveland, Mascotte, Minneola, Montverde, Stuckey). *Please read the eligibility criteria for each scholarship in the packet carefully to determine whether you can apply. Also on this page, are links to Frequently Asked Questions about the scholarship application process, general tips for applying, and a link to other websites which offer useful information about scholarships in general.
